IR35 Reform: Journey to April 2021

January 28, 2021 at 2 pm Dublin Time (GMT+1)

Plan for Changes, Navigate the Future

In just three months, we will witness one of the most important changes to worker tax legislation.
The IR35 reform will have a serious impact on large and medium-size organisations, operating in the private sector, which engage independent contractors through intermediaries (e.g. personal services companies).
If not adequately prepared, organisations could incur high costs, as well as face significant extra tax liabilities and penalties.

What we will cover

What you will learn

  • What is IR35 in the private sector?
  • What problems will its introduction pose for end users, fee payers, and recruiters? Penalties?
  • What category of workers does it impact and how will workers be effected?
  • Why is the CEST tool so problematic and what is the alternative?
  • What is an SDS? How should an organization communicate this?
  • What is reasonable care?
  • What are the risks of utilising umbrella companies?
At the end of the Masterclass you will be able to understand:
  • How to successfully, and compliantly, engage contractors within the parameters of IR35
  • What IR35 includes
  • The liabilities within your organisation and challenges that may arise
  • Different contracting models and solutions
  • What is the CEST tool and its alternatives
  • The risks associated with utilising an umbrella company
  • How to successfully, and compliantly, prepare for IR35
